Enriching the cultural landscape through a commitment to choral excellence.

2023-2024 Season

JUMP TO

Founded in 1980 under the name of the F-M Chamber Chorale, The Fargo-Moorhead Choral Artists (FMCA) performs choral music of all artistic styles and musical periods. This auditioned ensemble represents a diverse range of ages, professions, and walks of life and is dedicated to enriching and enhancing artistic communities within Minnesota and North Dakota.

FMCA rehearses weekly on Tuesday evenings from September to April. The choir presents three subscription concerts and an annual benefit concert. In addition to these concerts, FMCA regularly collaborates with the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Orchestra, providing our singers the opportunity to perform major choral and orchestral repertoire.

As a border choir, FMCA has been featured on both sides of the Red River at the Minnesota Music Educators Convention, the Convention of the North Dakota Music Educators, and the Region V Convention of the American Guild of Organists. In 2016, The Fargo-Moorhead Choral Artists was named the 2016 Arts Organization of the Year by The Arts Partnership.

“In our imperfect world we are meant to repair and stitch together what beauty there is, stitch it with compassion and wire.” This text from B.E. Boykin’s new score, Holding the Light, serves as the inspiration for our final concert of the season featuring music of purpose, promise, and healing. The choir will present music by Kyle Pederson, Andrea Ramsey, and many others as we conclude our season singing “chords of compassion and grace.”
