2024-2025 Season

Founded in 1980 under the name of the F-M Chamber Chorale, The Fargo-Moorhead Choral Artists (FMCA) performs choral music of all artistic styles and musical periods. This auditioned ensemble represents a diverse range of ages, professions, and walks of life and is dedicated to enriching and enhancing artistic communities within Minnesota and North Dakota.

FMCA rehearses weekly on Tuesday evenings from September to April. The choir presents three subscription concerts and an annual benefit concert. In addition to these concerts, FMCA regularly collaborates with the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Orchestra, providing our singers the opportunity to perform major choral and orchestral repertoire.

As a border choir, FMCA has been featured on both sides of the Red River at the Minnesota Music Educators Convention, the Convention of the North Dakota Music Educators, and the Region V Convention of the American Guild of Organists. In 2016, The Fargo-Moorhead Choral Artists was named the 2016 Arts Organization of the Year by The Arts Partnership.

Join FMCA for concerts celebrating the winter season and all that we love about it! Sarah Quartel’s SnowAngel and Ralph Vaughan Williams’s Fantasia on Christmas Carols are both scored for choir, cello, and piano, so we’re excited to be joined by guest artists Eduard Teregulov (cello) and vocalist William Jacobson (baritone) for this concert. Matthew Culloton’s setting of Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening and Abbie Betinis’s In the Bleak Midwinter, along with scores by John Rutter, Francis Poulenc, and Melissa Dunphy will help set the tone for this wintery feast of first-rate choral music.

A Singing Valentine

Dinner, Auction, Concert!

Join the F-M Choral Artists as we celebrate the Valentine season at our annual benefit event featuring a silent auction, libations and treats, a formal dinner, and a concert of love songs from the stage and screen. Reservations are required for this event, and dinner selections will be made in advance on our website. Spring is in the air (hopefully!) and FMCA’s season draws to a close with a concert celebrating the joys of the season featuring William Byrd’s Sing Joyfully and uplifting music by Carol Barnett, John Bennett, Lili Boulanger, Benjamin Britten, Paul Basler, Kitty Brazelton, Burt Bacharach, The Beatles, and more. Come celebrate the end of our concert season with us as the new season of Spring begins!

What Goes Around…

FMCA’s 2024-25 concert seasons opens with a ‘revolutionary’ program featuring music on circular, cyclical, and spherical themes. Will the Circle Be Unbroken, Ezekiel Saw de Wheel, and Joni Mitchell’s The Circle Game will be featured alongside the world premiere performances of Sunburst! and The Peaceful Sound of Silent Stars by Robert S. Cohen. Ross Lee Finney’s Spherical Madrigals and music by Susan LaBarr, Williametta Spencer, Timothy Takach, and Jennifer Lucy Cook will round out a program you won’t want to miss!
